Course Description

Topics include Introduction to electricity, multimeter measurements, basic DC circuits, complex DC circuits, wiring, introduction to AC circuits, AC test equipment, inductance, RL circuits, capacitance, RC circuits, resonance, transformers, relays, switches, introduction to digital circuits, digital logic functions, combinational logic circuits, flip-flop circuits, register memory circuits, arithmetic counting circuits, and conversion & data circuits.  This course prepares students for the CertTec Basic Electrical Certification in Direct Current (DC) Principles, Alternating Current (AC) Principles, and Digital Principles.   Students will learn and demonstrate knowledge about DC circuits, AC circuits, digital circuitry, electrical principles, component identification, tool usage, electrical safety, and basic troubleshooting.  The Core course (NFND 59645) is required as a prerequisite to attend this course.
