Course Description

This is a 40-hour course comprised of five days of 8 hours of face-to-face instruction for the mariner to familiarize themselves in reading and understanding the schematic diagrams of Refrigeration, Electrical and Hydraulic systems alongside hands on practical assessments utilizing the school’s lab and Kirby's digital troubleshooting simulator.  The course will have an Emphasis on vessel specific systems.  The course will have 4 days of set curriculum with the 5th day adjusted to the specific class to overview subjects that need further review.

Learner Outcomes

Student will have the knowledge, understanding and proficiency to read schematics, understand systems operations, and use the schematics to help with, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and equipment repairs. This includes the engineering controls and all safety features built into their systems.
