Course Description

This course provides the background knowledge, and student will have a thorough understanding of meteorology. The course provides an introduction to meteorology with specific emphasis on marine applications. Focuses on ocean weather phenomena as they impact vessel operations and the role of the ship's officer in observing, recording, and analyzing developing weather patterns. Knowledge of the characteristics of various weather systems, reporting procedures, and recording systems.
