Note: Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga/pilates mat if available.

Created by Joseph Pilates over a century ago, this discipline helped him to successfully cope with childhood asthma and bodily weakness. Joseph became a boxer, diver, skier, gymnast, and yoga devotee. Later, he dedicated his life to developing the Pilates method of exercise. Pilates is centered on building a good foundation through a strong abdomen, deep stretching, and focused breathing. The many benefits include, Increased Body Awareness, Development of a strong body core, and Body control. Today, Pilates experts teach that a strong core is necessary to avoid being injury-prone and susceptible to the pitfalls of our daily occupational or exercise routines.
