Course Description

The Safety Council presents PowerSafe Substation Safety Awareness. In this module, we will present valuable safety information to better prepare you for work in a utility environment. Topics will include: Substation Overview; PPE for Substation Work; Lockout/Tagout Procedures; Shock Hazards; Protective Grounding Safety; Substation Ground Grid Hazards; Low-Voltage Control/Source Voltage Safety; Our goal is for you leave this course with a general understanding of these topics. However, you must understand that this training alone is not sufficient for full compliance and does not replace your employer’s safety program. You will need additional hands-on training to be fully compliant. PRE-REQUISITES: A passing /not expired PowerSafe T&D Baseline or Baseline Refresher Training course is required before attending this class.
